What to you is the best calorie burning exercise? Is it cardio? Is it high intensity interval training? What exercises are necessary to help you lose weight efficiently?
For those that want to shed a few pounds it seems the main focus of their workouts are some sort of high intensity, cardiovascular or aerobic training. They want to run a few miles, go for a walk, or ride a bike etc. There are a million of these types no impact cardiovascular exercises.
Let me tell you straight out, they won’t work if that’s all you do. Cardio training should comprise about 20% of your workout time. I like to used it for simply cooling down after I’m sweaty and done lifting weights, or as a warm up to getting my muscles loose to really focus on my bodybuilding and strength training routines. Most of the time I’ll do both.
If you want to lose fat and gain a bit of strength and muscle, you have to focus at least 80% of your efforts on lifting weight, not doing cardio training. I’m telling you, try it out and see what kind of results you’ll get.
Do me a favor, try it out for 1 month and you’ll see what I mean. The results will be a tighter more tone body that’s stronger, sexier and more defined along with fat loss.
You won’t get results like that from just going for walks or a jog on the beach. It ain’t gonna happen.
In this video, Craig Ballantyne tells us of 5 movements that should be incorporated to your workouts if you’re trying to lose fat.
5 Movements That Promote Fat Loss.
Any Type Of Squatting Movement:
Barbell squat, bodyweight squat, single-leg squat, split squat. These movements put emphasis on your lower muscles.
Squats are essential if you want to change your body. Many times people think squats are only good for the legs. They’re not. Squats are excellent and critical if you want to build bigger muscles in your arms, biceps, shoulders and chest. Squats release the most amount of HGH (human growth hormone) in your blood as well as lactic acids and testosterone.
Squats are critical for your health and your fitness.
Any Type Of Pushing Movement:
Any type of pushup, bench press, push press, dumbbell press. These are all compound muscle movements designed to stimulate the most anabolic effect because of the size of the muscle groups involved.
These movements put emphasis on your chest as well as shoulders and triceps.
Any Type Of Pulling Movement:
Rowing movement, pull ups, chin ups, dead lift, dumbbell rows, seated rows. These movements target your back and your biceps.
I like body weight or even weighted pull ups. They work your latissimus dorsi musles and help develop a thick and wide upper back.
Single Leg Exercises:
Lunges, split squats, single-leg squats, lying one-leg hip extensions, bulgerian split squat. Again, these concentrates on your lower muscles.
These help to develop stabilizing strength, coordination and balance for your entire physiology. You’ll get stronger quadriceps, calves and if you’re a women, sexy tones legs and a nice firm butt. You’ll look great in your skinny jeans again.
Total-Body Abdominal exercise:
Hanging leg raise, cable crunch, mountain climber, spiderman climb, jackknife. Most of these will work your abdominals and at the same time other muscle groups. Instead of opting for a simple crunches where your body only moves a couple inches during the movements, you should ALWAYS go for full body movements if you can on every single exercise.
If you’re going to be doing a crunch anyway, why not do something that’s just as hard but will get you 20 times better results?
The most important aspect of each of these moves is that it targets major muscle groups, if not all of the body.
Now that you know all the best calorie burning exercise movements, all you need is a little bit of imagination to put up a fat burning workout that incorporates these moves.
