Though nobody wants to think about dieting, weight loss or fasting. But really we should be more concerned about what we eat. What we consume each meal is what is going to shape and mold us. Learning how to get slim can’t be done unless you remember the saying, “we are what we eat.”
Do you want to be slimy gooey pasta? Or lean raw meat? We are what we eat, every person in every culture understands this most basic premise. We are the results of everything we have chosen to consume over our lifetimes.
During an average human life, we’re going to consume roughly 70 tons of food. That’s 140,000 pounds of food has to pass through your digestive system. If it’s low quality food filled with additives, chemicals, genetically modified organisms, and pesticides, no wonder we’re dying of cancer and obese. You’re fat because you’re feeding yourself this garbage each day.
Aren’t you worth better?
The simplest methods are actually the best methods when it comes to weight reduction. It’s intuitive, everybody knows that.
In past articles, we have explored various bodybuilder diets, all of them extremely efficient for short periods leading up to certain events like bodybuilding compettitions or even things like summer etc. But most of these extreme diets just are not sustainable for the average guy working a 9 to 5 office job or for the tired and exhausted house wife.
Most diets and weight lost programs need some kind of counting; calories, carbohydrates, portions, fiber, amino acids etc. If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to get slim, you have inevitably started counting your caloric intake.
Counting calories is a thing of the past. If you eat the right foods, you are full and don’t have sugar cravings or weird addictions to food. Over eating simply melts away.
The “The Gabriel Method” is probably the best non-diet program promoted by Jon Gabriel. He has some incredibly ground breaking material that can help you get over the hump. I strongly suggest you check it out.

Jon, a monetary guy in NYC, who used to be a morbidly obese until he discovered his fat problem was due primarily to his thinking. Can you imagine that? To come to a realization that your mental state is controlling your body is something that is looked at these days as being new age or cult like.
Big Jon knew otherwise.
Jon lost over 200 pounds over the next two years by simply following a few simple diet and lifestyle rules. When you break it down it’s so simple. Exercise as much as you can each day and avoid eating high sugar foods like carbohydrates (yes this means fruit too – but only for a while).
What’s more incredible is that doctor’s can’t find any evidence that Jon used to be obese. His body is so lean and his skin is tight without any stretch marks at all. It’s kind of freaky to be honest. It’s really strange because most people who were obese have lots of excess skin that hangs off of their bodies. Eventually they need to get it surgically removed so it ends up looking okay.
Jon’s success was achieved by reprogramming his mind to wish to be thin. Jon knew how to get slim. His mental barriers were removed, those barriers that told his metabolism to store everything as fat simply because fat is secure. He knew how to take care of his thyroid gland as well as controlling his hormones.
But all of this came from his mind. His motivation and intentions were aligned with his actions. And that’s where real transformation begins.
A lot of medical experts are getting into the “paleolithic diet.” The contention is that our caveman ancestors didn’t have contemporary diseases due to how they ate. They promoted pre-agricultural diet plans.
Based on the knowledge we have available from science, I think this is the most natural way that we should go. Grains, corn and sugar are what is giving us diseases like obesity, diabetes and cancer. Not to mention heart attacks.
Most refined grains, starches and sugars didn’t exist in caveman dieting. Most of their meals are rich in protein and most of their fruits and nuts are usually raw and rarely cooked. It is my contention that this diet of mostly raw fruits and vegetables along with superfoods, herbs, fermented foods and some raw animal products like meat, milk, eggs, honey, butter is going to be the most healthy for us. Refined carbohydrates won’t help you put on muscle or lose weight.
They raise your insulin levels and give you diabetes, but they sure taste good!
Refined carbohydrates include foods like pasta, cereal, all breads, pizza, chips, crackers, cakes…you get the idea.
In Colorado, two doctors, Mary and Michael Eades, shared in “The Protein Power Lifeplan“, how they helped their diabetic patients by enforcing a paleolithic diet plan. Mary and Michael also knew how to get slim and they taught their techniques to their patients.
It’s amazing what’s possible. The power of the mind is an incredible thing…
To make it short, if we want to lose that gut and keep it off, we need to make major life changes about our diet. 80% of success is diet and mental habits.
We need to remold our thinking that we need to be lean and fit in order to be safe. Not the other way around. Just think about a caveman running for safety from a wild animal. We need to think in terms of efficiency.
We need to steer clear of processed foods, refined grains and sugars. Our meals ought to be “caveman style” with plenty of protein from both meats and vegetables. We ought to get lots of fiber and raw fruits and vegetables.
This is called the Paleo diet. Believe it or not there are people even eating raw meat in a paleo manner.
Controlling your portions is another aspect of weight control. We should begin with small servings and stop eating when we feel satisfied. The Chinese say that when we’re about 80% full we should stop eating.
Scientists have concluded that the less we eat the longer we live. This makes sense as digestion is the number one energy drain on the body. The less food we eat the more energy we’ll have towards fighting off the diseases that will eventually kill us. Plus it gives more energy for exercising.
We ought to steer clear of “empty calories” like the kinds that are in alcoholic beverages (think protein drinks), sugary soft drinks and artificial sweeteners. Our snacks should come from vegetables, nuts or seeds, preferably in their raw and uncooked state.
Instead of having a coke, have a fresh raw carrot apple celery juice. Your body will thank you for it.
Our foods should supply omega 3 and 6 fatty acids. Consider eating salmon or avocados. If we’re cooking, we should utilize wholesome oils. An example of which is coconut oils. Also make sure any oils you buy at the grocery store or health food store come in dark glass containers. Oils turn rancid when exposed to light or heat rather easily.
