How To Read Food Labels Easily Explained

Learning how to read food labels is probably what you already do if you’re health conscious. Not everybody does this though. I’ve found over the years that bodybuilders and power lifters aren’t really concerned about health as much as they are in looking a certain way.
However, did you know why companies put a lot of high fructose corn syrup instead of sugar?
It’s much much cheaper for them to use this instead of sugar. It was done for their benefit but it’s you who will suffer. You see these companies aren’t concerned with your health. In fact, they’d prefer that you get addicted to their products and get fat and depressed, enabling you to buy more of their products because they’re simply comfort food.
Don’t be deceived by these companies. MSG, high fructose corn syrup, yellow dye #5, sodium glutamate, trans fatty acids, these are all ingredients that will give you heart disease, cancer and diabetes. They do it because it’s cheap. They’re feeding you like dogs, don’t you get it?
A very common source of HFCS is an ordinary soda. Soda companies like Coke and Pepsi are the worst offenders. These products are literally giving our nation chronic diseases. They should be ashamed of themselves, so should people for drinking this garbage. Did you know that the second ingredient of coke is high fructose corn syrup? And the corn that they’re using is genetically modified which makes it an even worse poison in the human body.
Additionally, coke contains 40 grams of sugar. That’s about 10 teaspoons of sugar. It’s a lot similar to mixing ten teaspoons of sugar in a glass of water and drinking it. Imagine what it would do if you give that to your kids? They get hyper active, attention deficit disorder (ADD and ADHD), diabetes, asperger’s syndrome, nervous system disorders and more.
This stuff is poison and you can’t feed it to your kids.
Gatorade, which is supposed to be a health drink, has high fructose corn syrup. On top of that, this drink is blue. I wouldn’t advise drinking anything that’s toxic blue. Did you know that as many as 70 different ingredients can be in “blue dye #4″? These are chemicals that are harming your body and the bodies of your children.
You’d be surprised at the items where you can find HFCS. You can find HFCS in 100% whole-wheat wonder bread, light yogurt, Ritz cracker and jelly and many more. It’s basically in about 80 to 85% of all pre packaged food you find in the grocery stores.
In order to find out if there is high fructose corn syrup, you need to read the ingredients, not just the nutrition label.
You’re going to have to write down ingredients and research them online to get the real facts about food labels. Trust me, the Food And Drug Administration doesn’t have your best interest at heart. Only you are going to care enough about your health to give a rip.
And by the way, the FDA was originally setup to regulate interstate commerce between states. What are they doing trying to regulate everything we eat and buy?
If you’re fond of eating snacks, you should eat foods that are absolutely natural, in their whole food state, fresh, organic and preferably raw. Good options would be organic walnuts or organic fruit mixes. If you look into their ingredients, all they have are organic walnuts, organic apricots, organic apples, etc.
The less ingredients on a box the healthier it’s going to be for you to consume.
If you want to eat natural foods, it shouldn’t have anything more than a handful of ingredients on the label. No chemicals, no additives, no preservatives.
So make sure to do more than just reading the nutrition facts label. Read Nutrition Labels and Read Ingredients.
Personally I buy and eat pretty much fresh whole raw organic fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, grains and meats. This way I don’t even have to bother much with reading food labels at all. It makes life so much easier and healthier too.
