Eating protein is important for you when you’re bodybuilding. However, you should know that eating protein is also important when you’re concentrating on how to burn body fat.
Proteins (which are amino acid chains) not only help to rebuild and repair muscle tissue but they’re required for the proper functioning of our organs. If your heart isn’t working right or you liver is not cleaning and detoxing properly, you might need to increase the amount of usable protein you’re currently consuming.
Usually you need about 1 gram of high quality protein per pound of body weight.
But protein also helps you to lose weight because it increases muscle and strength (assuming you’re on the right exercise and fitness program).
Remember to eat fats with your protein. In nature fat is always coupled with protein. A few examples of this are eggs, nuts, seeds and muscle from an animal.
In this video, Isabel from TheDietSolution.com explains how eating protein can help you burn body fat.
To give you a brief idea of what the video is all about, here are a few tips.
You need to eat a sufficient amount of protein in your daily plan. Note that you only need “sufficient” and not an overabundance of protein.

Sometimes people get caught up eating too much protein and that puts a lot of strain on your kidneys and acid alkaline levels in your bloodstream and organs tissues.
There is a misconception that you need tons and tons of protein in order to build lean and toned muscles. Your body breaks down protein into amino acids. These amino acids are used to build up your muscles.
When you exercise, you break down your muscles. However, this doesn’t mean that you should eat tons and tons of protein. You should keep them within reasonable portions.
People think they go to the gym to build muscle. But when they exercise and lift weights at the gym, they’re really tearing and breaking down interstitial muscle fibers on a microscopic level. When they eat and are recovering the next day (along with sleeping) that’s when their body is rebuilding, remineralizing and organizing to itself more Qi to live another day.
You need protein in every one of your meals because it will help you burn fat. Protein releases a hormone called glucagon. Glucagon is a fat burning hormone. It is the opposite of Insulin, which is a fat storing hormone.
Eating a serving or two within every meal, you get a fat burning effect with your meals. It also helps in stabilizing your blood sugar. Eating protein along with your carbohydrates is going to help keep your blood sugar stable. If you eat carbohydrates without protein, you will experience spikes on your blood sugar levels.
Here are good sources of protein.
- whole organic eggs
- organic grass fed beef (conventional beef are injected with -growth hormones)
