I talk to hundreds of people per year that seem to want a quick fix for their bodies. They want some solution but they don’t want to change. Life doesn’t work like that.

You could run 2 marathons a day every single day and you still wouldn’t lose any fat if you took in more calories than you expended. Or you might have an under active thyroid and that will cause you to not secret enough testosterone or progesterone (if you’re a lady) to really get slim.

Fat loss is a result of energy in versus energy out. So if you’re taking 2000 catories in and 2000 calories are going out, you’re going to stand still. You’re not going to change. But if you’re taking in more calories than your burning, then you’re going to store excess fat around your belly or midsection, your love handles, thighs and butt.

You can also be in a caloric deficit and still not lose fat. The reason for this is you might not be creating the right hormonal responses in your body.

How to burn body fat is the result of releasing growth hormones and testosterone into your body. Those are the hormones that produce a fat burning response. You want to minimize estrogen but increase progesterone as well. Estrogen makes people fat, bloated, irritable and cranky.

Testosterone is correlated with drive, ambition and intensity and subsequently, muscle gain and weight loss.

What’s the number one way to create growth hormone in your body from a training standpoint? It’s the release of lactic acid in your body. This produces human growth hormone and it’s a result of training to complete muscle failure and breakdown.

When was the last time you trained anaerobically? Do you think walking on the treadmill for an hour or going on the eliptical for a hour increases any lactic acid in your body, at least enough to create a growth hormone response? Most likely not. Low grade cardiovascular exercise doesn’t really create an anabolic type body via lactic acid and the breakdown and repair of cellular tissue.

How to burn body fat? You’ve got to create the right hormonal response. Vince Delmonte will tell you how to accomplish that.

Focus on compound muscle movements that target the largest muscles in the body, the back, legs (thighs or quadriceps), and gluteus maximus muscles (butt). They release the most human growth hormone and testosterone when the fibers are torn during a training session.

Another key component on how to burn fat is to drop the outrageous amount of cardio.

You want to focus on explosiveness. Power, speed, training without the presence of oxygen. Those are the things that are going to create an oxygen debt and force your body to create lactic acid and ultimately jack up your metabolism.

Remember the key is high weight low reps (for a few weeks) that focus on explosive power.

Think about the amount of calories you can burn over the span of day, not just while you’re in the gym. Do things in the gym that boost your metabolism all day long.

Two ways of doing this:

Resistance training with weights –

Anybody with an impressive physique does weight training. If you just want to have a smaller physique, do more cardio. But you won’t be anymore defined or anymore sculpted. Lift heavy weight using dumbbells or barbell free weights. These are optimal for getting results.

Interval training –

Interval training is going to be your secret weapon. Your body will never work longer or harder. This when you’ll see that embarrassing fat disappear. It’s also called muscle confusion. This tricks your body every so often to thinking it’s getting the same workout routine when in fact it gets shocked by having completely different movements at different angles.
