Jun 21st, 2011 | By Todd Bowman | Category: Arms / Biceps, Chest
Vince Delmonte describes the best fat burning exercises in this extremely informative video. He’ll give you insight on how to structure your goal oriented physical workout program to burn those excess calories.
He goes over which exercises are going to be the most optimal ones to get the quickest results as well as which exercises are not worth your time. Let me give you a hint, think isolation.
He’ll ask the pertinent question: Is your current program predominately isolation exercises, or is it primarily multi-joint exercises? He’ll tell you the top six exercises you need to know, and how to incorporate each exercise into your daily workout routine.
Compounds fully body exercise movements utilize most of your entire bone and skeletal structure. This puts stress onto your entire body at once. There are main muscles that are broken down but since the body as a whole unit is working during compound movements, you get the most benefit. Think about squats. They work your entire upper and lower body all at the same time.
Start with the upper body. The upper body is broken up into four movements. It’s broken up into horizontal and vertical pushing exercises and horizontal and vertical pulling exercises. And if your don’t have four exercises for each movement, you’re going to create instability in your shoulders which will cause you problems later in life.
Once you have instability (created from a result of doing only isolation workouts over long periods of time) then your body start subconsciously compensating, which usually results in injury. Your body starts getting used to moving in patterns of movement, this will create injury almost every time. Cut the isolation workouts, they’re no good.
What muscle group are you working when you do a horizonal pushing exercises? Chest. The bench press or barbell press, whether it’s dumbells on a flat or an incline are excellent choices for working the chest.
Your upper pectoral muscles really should feel a nice stretch and burn during the bench press. Also it’s a compound exercise too so you’re getting more bang for your buck.
What about horizontal pulling exercises? Any seated row variation will accomplish your goal. It can be a bent over dumbell row, a one arm dumbell row, a wide grip or any other row variation.
It’s good to vary push and pull exercises. I like the inverted single barbell row. They’re great for your upper back and latissimus dorsi muscles.
What about the vertical push range of motion. The shoulders. Whether it’s the military press or dumbell press, whether you’re seated or standing, make these one of your best fat burning exercises.
This works your triceps, forearms, deltoids and trapezius muscles all at once. It also helps to increase blood flow to these relatively small muscle groups.

Lastly you need to focus on vertical pulling. Here you need to concentrate on wide grip pulldowns, wide grip pullups, chinups, close grip chinups, close grip pulldowns, close grip pullups, any variation on a pulling exercise.
This is great for lats and forearm strength. This body weight exercise is one in which you can see results almost faster than any other movement.
You need at least one exercise from those four planes of motion to create an effective fat burning program. Your body works on the push / pull mechanism and uses these in planes of motion.
Let’s move to the lower body. We’ll break it up into two planes of movement as well: The frontal plane and the rear plane.
The front plane exercises are referred to as the quad dominate exercises. The rear plane exercises are referred to as the hip dominate exercises, anything that works the lower back, glutes and the hamstrings.
What about the lower body? Squats will work the quadriceps, lower back, stomach, calves, upper back and hamstrings. The hips require proper dead lift exercises. Squats are the king of exercises.
If you start concentrating on these best fat burning exercises and utilize them in your daily workout program, you’ll be on your way to burning that fat you’ve been trying to get rid of forever. And the results will amaze you!
